GM – Mad Post September 2019
Notwithstanding the poor weather in May and early June, we’ve had a summer of weather that, for a golfer, couldn’t get much better. Chad would disagree somewhat due to the lack of rainfall and the resulting challenges his team have faced, but once again he and his team have maintained the course in magnificent condition.
In this article, I’ll update you on recent board and management initiatives and update you on our 2019 operating results.

Golf Course Update September 2019
The month of August was just as dry as July, shorter days and very reasonable temperatures made it feel much more reasonable though. The numbers are as follows:  August had just 16mm of rain and July had 18mm in 2019.  Those numbers are reminiscent of the very dry 2016 season here at Mad.

You Lifted Your Head – Golf’s Greatest Justification

You’ve honed your game right before your tee time and you’re ready to tackle the course.  You stripe your driver down the first hole and are feeling great about the chances of having a great round.  Your second shot advances 100 yards down the fairway but it never leaves the ground and before you can begin your internal berating, you hear from a distance, “You lifted your head.”  As you drag your feet up to your next shot, you think to yourself, “But how?  I tried so hard to stay down on that one?”

Dear Members:
Each year we charge all of our members over 40, $50.00 plus tax for a gratuity which is distributed among the seasonal staff in Grounds, Golf Operations and Caretaking as a thank you for all their hard work and effort over the season.
Please note that this gratuity which is usually charged in the fall of each year, has been charged to your account in August. There are three reasons for this.
  1. The ROE (record of employment) has to be issued within 10 days of employment end.
  2.  In previous years this was billed in October. This caused the need for amendments to all those that had left earlier and already received their ROE.
  3. Additionally, by processing the gratuity now, the seasonal staff receive their bonus at an important time as they return to school and incur those associated expenses.
 Thank you
