Member/Member: 22 - 2 person teams braved the cold, damp weather this past Tue. in a fun Chapman format tournament. Congratulations to Mary Collins and Catherine Sendell for winning, with a terrific score of 62. 2nd place – Hilarie Woods and Joan Ball at 68 and a three way tie for 3rd place at 69 – Carolyn Smith and Jan Atkinson-Hall, Teri Yamada and Sue Hough, and Sharon De Lorenzi and Shelly Cunnigham. 8 teams received birdie balls. Thanks to Carolyn Smith and Jan Atkinson-Hall for organizing such a fun day.

On June 1 and 2 the inaugural Medal Play Weekend was held.   Played from the green tees our reigning club champion Doug Painter won with a gross score of 73,  and Sharon Delorenzi won Low Net.  Peter Timmins was 2nd Low Net.
 
Originally planned as a Men’s Event, two women signed up and played exceptionally well. Kristy McLaughlin shot 77, beat her husband, and finished with 2nd Low Gross. 
 
 
 
]]> Tue, 04 Jun 2019 04:00:00 GMT <![CDATA[Developing Great Practice Habits]]> There are many misinterpretations about practice, including this one – the more balls you hit, the more you will improve.  While this may be true in the case of learning a new discipline, such as repeatedly hitting  twelve-yard chip shots to ingrain the feel, it is not representative of what we experience on a golf course.  In coaching golfers of all levels, I am fascinated that so many players spend so much time on the range with little improvement to their scores.  Part of the reason is that the driving range isn’t the golf course and the skills learned on a wide-open field aren’t transferable to a tree-lined second shot with bunkers in the distance and a large pond on the right.  That’s a stressful shot. ]]> Sun, 02 Jun 2019 04:00:00 GMT <![CDATA[Mad River Reciprocals]]> The 2019 Reciprocal List as of May 30th, 2019 is as follows:
