Men's Night is now on Wednesdays for the month of July! As of July 3rd the Club will host Men's Night as a test to determine if more players are interested in Wednesday versus Thursday.  Different formats and different menus and pricing will be tried as a way to increase participation. Each week will start with a free clinic at 1:00 p.m. and a shotgun at 1:30 p.m. for 18 holes and 3:00 p.m. for nine hole players. Summer is finally here and with it several opportunities to ensure that our club continues to thrive throughout the season.

Drive to 35 - The Club is happy to report that the Drive to 35 is almost complete!  The race is on to sell the last four memberships as soon as possible.  If you know of anyone who may be interested don’t hesitate to contact me directly at 705-428-3673 ext. #3 or 705-443-9818 or if you prefer email shiggins@madriver.ca  At $15,000 the whole family is in the Club for 2019 at no additional fees or dues until 2020.
]]> Sun, 23 Jun 2019 04:00:00 GMT <![CDATA[Golf Course Update - June 27]]> Despite the wet weather the golf course remains fairly firm in most areas, the exceptions being #2 and #10. These areas are the lowest on the property and tend to hold a little more moisture after rain events. While we have been experiencing some precipitation, we have not had any large rain events and certainly have not had damaging rain. Our golf course has been quite playable throughout this stretch of weather but this has been no less annoying to golfers. ]]> Sat, 22 Jun 2019 04:00:00 GMT <![CDATA[The Shoulders]]> If you struggle with both thin and pulled shots, you may want to pay attention to your shoulders. One of the main functions in the backswing is to turn the shoulders in a circle on a downward angle while staying over the ball. This will allow the hands and the golf club to travel on a preferred path to the top of the swing.

Congratulation to  Andrea White and Brian Koturbash for winning the Couples Tournament with a fantastic score of 63. We had a record number of participants - 88. Great time was had by all - no divorces!

Ladies Day - Results: June 25 – We tried a new game – String. Each person was given a length of string which could be used anywhere on the course to get out of trouble, in place of a short putt etc. Winners of the day were: 1st place – Sheila Kaarlela 2nd place – Sharon Maloney, Catherine Sendell and Erica Armstrong. Sharon Maloney won the draw for her food and beverage chit.

The Buffet will include Shrimp Cocktail, Roast Asparagus and Sundried Tomato Salad with Beamster Shavings and Balsamic Glaze, Cucumber, Cherry Tomato and Dill Salad with Caramelized Onion, Local Honey Vinaigrette, Charcuterie Platter, Vegetable Moussaka, Potato Galette, Roast Prime Rib with Red Wine Jus , Pickerel with Lemon Balm Beurre Blanc and Dessert will feature Assorted Fruit and Individual Desserts. Click Here to register. ]]> Mon, 17 Jun 2019 04:00:00 GMT <![CDATA[Canada Day Event - Flag Golf - Monday, July 1st]]> FLAG GOLF -  is a competition format in which golfers begin the round of golf with an allotment of strokes, then play the golf course until their strokes run out. 
 
The game gets its name from the fact that little flags are usually given to competitors to stick in the ground at the point from which their final shot is played. No Cost. Regular Tee Times and this is an optional event.
