What to expect this Spring
Northgate farms will be back onsite this spring to work on some minor deficiencies around bunkers and in some of the construction areas. Their focus will be to repair some bunker edges that have settled in various locations throughout the property, this will not disrupt golf in any way.
Irrigation
Later this month we will be installing irrigation at #8 as well as the driving range teeing area. The Irrigation team will pick up on the same schedule as last season, weather permitting, they will be working on one hole per week, this hole will be closed while they are working on it, again this year, there will be no closures on the weekend. The golf holes yet to be completed for irrigation installation include half of #8, #1,#2,#9,#18,#14 and #15. The driving range field will be last on the list, along with the entrance
We will be rehabilitating the bunkers at 18 green and fairway beginning this week, weather permitting, this should take us approximately 3 to 3.5 weeks to complete. If this does disrupt golf, it will be a very short time frame.
We have begun to clean up the golf course from its long winter slumber, snow remains in some areas and the property is still very wet due to the snow melt, this makes access with equipment difficult this time of year. This season, we will be intently focused on the rehabilitation of our property after the completion of the grounds projects over last season and this coming spring, but as always the grounds team are excited for another great season of golf at Mad River.
See you on the course!
Respectfully,
Chad Vibert
