Roy Emerton and Tom Sandell Education Awards
These awards celebrate the hard work and determination of Mad River’s seasonal team members who have embraced the pursuit of learning. The awards are given in memory of Mad River staff members, Roy Emerton and Tom Sandell.
Roy and Tom were longtime members of the Mad River team, inspiring their co-workers through their strong work ethic, genuine hospitality and commitment to the Club. Both grew up in small local communities where they learned the importance of working together, lending a hand and taking pride in a job well done. They brought those values with them to Mad River every day, helping to shape the welcoming, service-focused culture that continues to be an important part of the Club today.
These awards are open to all secondary school graduating students and currently enrolled post-secondary school students who are registered for full-time studies in the upcoming school year.
This is the ninth year we’ve offered these awards. Congratulations to the following team members;

F&B – Ashley Evans
Golf Shop – Hannah Bloemendal, Claire Pelletier
Back Shop – Hazel Dempsey, Mason Bradley
It’s our hope that some of our recipients will return next year, unfortunately we know this will be the final year at Mad River for some. This may be you last opportunity to congratulate them and wish them well in their studies and careers.
