Over the next couple of weeks, we will focus our efforts on texture of our leaf blades on our green surfaces, this will include grooming and brushing these surfaces to encourage a finer leaf blade. This results in less friction and generally more smooth and true surfaces.
We will also be focusing on our bunkers, we will be working on smoothness and ensuring sand is allocated in the right areas of each bunker, adding any sand where required.
Some of you may have noticed that we do have some Poa that is dying on the putting green surface. This is indeed intentional, we are part of a trial study group, along with other clubs, in testing a brand new product that has shown great efficacy on controlling Poa on golf courses. It is currently in use in the US and other countries, the active ingredient is Methiozolin, it has shown great results for us, as evidenced on the putting green. We hope it will provide another tool for us to manage our Poa infestation in the years to come. This product is still in the registration process, we hope it will be available in the future for use.
Please remember to take a free drop from the temporary greens at 6 and 17, these areas are now marked clearly with white paint, in an effort to make them more visible for the members.

As always, please remember to repair your ball marks on our green surfaces, even if you hit the green and bounce over the back, please fix your pitch mark. Always push to the centre, never pry up on the centre of the ball mark.
See you on the golf course,
Respectfully,
Chad Vibert
