With 300 guests representing 120 venues from 22 countries—ranging from private clubs to hotels and resorts—the knowledge shared was extraordinary. The ripple effect of these conversations will be felt across the industry. I was especially inspired by a discussion on the role of the mind in the swing and how golf is increasingly seen not only as a sport, but as a health practice—helping with focus, mindfulness, and even potentially slowing the onset of Alzheimer’s. Listening to this passion reminded me of Hanna Metzger’s own drive to pursue treatments and, ultimately, a cure for this condition.
I also had the chance to connect with the Global Food & Beverage Manager of the Year—an extraordinary young woman whose creativity left me energized with fresh ideas to bring back to Mad River. I look forward to sharing some of these insights throughout the season.
Being among so many industry leaders reminded me just how special Mad River truly is. I love that we are a club in the country—not a country club. At Mad River we do things differently, and that ethos will remain at our heart as the club continues to grow and evolve. I am proud to be part of the Mad River family.
Heading into Autumn
As the days grow shorter, we kindly remind our twilight golfers, as well as members joining us for dinner only, to let us know if you’re planning to stay for a meal. Your reservation helps us ensure that everything is ready for you, so you’re never disappointed and we can create a truly enjoyable dining experience. On quieter days or when the weather is less than ideal, this also allows us to plan ahead and keep the clubhouse welcoming and ready for your visit.
We look forward to sharing cozy autumn evenings with you at Mad River, enjoying great golf, delicious meals, and the camaraderie that makes our club so special.
