Aeration Update
The weather again did not want to cooperate with us.  After canceling our original date due to the extreme heat, we had rain on day one of aeration last week. Most of the fine turf surfaces were aerated last week, we skipped some fairways due to irrigation installation, the turf reacts poorly to irrigation install once its been core aerified.  We will get back to these fairways later in the year, likely when topdressing these areas.  The greens surfaces were Dryjected this year, surfaces were pretty good right after aeration, recovery from the holes is slower than we would like but we are getting better every day.  We are doing everything we can to get these holes closed up, we do not want to give poa any opportunities.

Aeration on fairways is recovering nicely, these should be fully healed by the end of this week.  We plan to begin our fall topdressing and our fescue mowing around the middle of September.

Along with some cultural practices in early to mid September, we will be over seeding many areas in our bluegrass rough.  We have many areas contaminated with bentgrass or poa, we plan to introduce bluegrass seed to have a better stand of grass in certain areas of the property.  We will also be seeding many fescue areas that have been impacted by the construction and or irrigation install.

Finally, please remember to fix ball marks on our greens surfaces, unrepaired ball marks give poa a perfect opportunity to invade!
