The Club Championship feels like a distant memory based on what has been happening on the course, and at the club last week. For those that played, I thought it would be interesting to share how the course played, and which holes provided the most challenge to the field. Below, I have included course statistics from both the men’s and ladies’ events. It should come as no surprise that #9 was ranked hardest in the ladies event, and #12 was hardest for the men.

Now that the golf course project is fully underway, I wanted to mention to members a new drop zone that has been added to hole #17. We received some questions over the weekend on how to proceed when you hit the ball over the green, and your ball comes to rest in the area in which sod has been removed. To simplify the process for taking FREE relief, we have added a drop zone. The drop zone is clearly marked with white paint. The player has the option of either playing it as it lies in the un-sodded area or moving to the drop zone. Clearly there is a lot of slope behind that green, therefore, the drop zone is in a position to maintain the integrity of the shot.
We have two fit days left on the calendar for members that are still interested in new equipment. Taylormade will be at the club this Friday, July 25th from 10am to 3pm. On Sunday, August 3rd, Titleist is back for their last fitting event of the season. This is an exciting fit day as Titleist has just launched the new T-Series irons. I was invited down to TPC Toronto to test the product a month ago. I can share that the new irons look and feel fantastic. They are designed to help players hit their irons higher, with more spin, than the previous generation. Higher, with more spin, sounds like a great combo when playing Mad River! Here is a video produced by Titleist to coincide with the launch:

| Please call the pro shop to book an appointment at either of these fitting events. If you cannot make either of these dates, but are still interested, we have the fitting tools for both brands at the club. You can email me directly and I would be happy to take you through the fitting myself at no charge. |
