Notes from our clinic on Short Irons (Thank you Marshall):
“The main key with short irons is to have set-up and swing that produces a slightly lower trajectory with proper distance control.
  1.  Take a slightly narrow stance.  This will help make the swing more connected during the swing.
  2. The ball position should be in the middle of your stance.  You can use an alignment stick between your feet on the range to get a good idea of what that looks like.
  3. Your pressure should be more on your lead foot to produce a downward strike on the golf ball.
  4. The swing should feel shorter going back (feel 9 o’clock on the backswing) and shorter going through.  This will produce the lower ball flight.

We had a great turn-out for the past divot day!  Thank you to everyone who came out to help fill divots.

“Tips and Sips” Date changes – Please mark your calendar
Due to scheduling, the “Tips and Sips” event dates are being changed.   August 3 and August 31 are cancelled.  The last “Tips and Sips” event of the season will take place on August 24 .
 
Golf Canada
Don’t forget to post your scores in Golf Canada for your most current handicaps.  Please note that you must use the drop down feature to choose the correct tees that you scored from.
