#7 tees Update
The white tee at 7 has now been completed, and it is open for play. The cart path around the back of the tee flows nicely and the stones add a nice finishing touch to the area. This has increased the size of this tee substantially. We will be removing the front right portion in order to square this tee as well as squaring up the back of the back tee.
We’ve also been busy with:
- Continuing to top up bunkers with sand
- Topdressing fairways and approaches
- Continuing with underbrush at 4, 13,15,16,17
- Top-dressed all of our fairway areas
- Constructed a pathway to 16 back tees (safety)
- Re integrated our old tees at 18
- Built a pathway to provide access to new/old 18 tees
- We have widened the walk off area at 14 and re-sodded
17 New Greenside Bunker
This bunker is now re-open for play, the sod still was unstable in some areas. We had someone try to exit on the high side of this bunker and damage the edge, always try to exit on the low side of bunkers to avoid any potential damage that may occur. The pavers that were inside the bunker were temporary, to hold the soil in place while the area recovered.
Driving Range Field
When we get into periods of drought, in order to conserve water in our pond, we omit watering the driving range field. The tees and short game area are still watered regularly.
When rain returns, we will go back to watering occasionally. This helps us maintain the level in the pond in front of the clubhouse area and conserve some water.
Our plan for the next couple of weeks includes:
- Opening 18 old new tees for play
- Topdressing approaches
- New drainage at 11 fairway
- Hydroseed areas throughout the property
- Cart path work at 18
- Topdressing par three fairways
Divot Day
Our first Divot day of the season will occur during our maintenance time on Wednesday June 28 from 8- 10am, we encourage all to join in some camaraderie while helping us with our bentgrass populations!
Please refer to the picture story above for the proper technique to repair ball marks. Never pry “up” in the centre of the mark always “push” toward the centre.
Respectfully Submitted,
