Some things you may notice as you play your first rounds of the season:
#7 tee
We have increased the tee space on the white tee by approx. 50%, this has included moving the pathway around the back of the Gold tee and incorporating a stone retaining wall on the south side of the tee. We have also removed the trees below the forward tee between 6 green and 7 tee. This has opened up a great long view from 7 tee across the 8
th and 9
th fairway. This tee expansion has been sodded recently, along with hydroseed for most of the disturbed area around the tee.
This will provide us more space with which to spread wear around on the white tee in this location.
#18 Tees

The old Tees on #18 have been rehabilitated and converted into the White, purple and red tees. We plan to have these open for play later this spring and construct the new green tee later this summer. We will require the fill which is currently located under the current white and red teeing grounds in order to construct the green tee forward of the blue tee location, by doing the rehab on the old tees first, this gives us tees to play from while the new green tee is being constructed later this summer. Removing the existing white tee and extending the fairway towards the back tees will provide a much more appealing view from the current back tees, this along with a shorter green tee, will allow the hole to play much more like Cupp had hoped for the green and white and red tee player, and hopefully keep more balls out of the parking area.
You may also notice some newly hydroseeded areas alongside our forestry edges, in some cases such as 15 tee, we have pushed back the tree line along with the old cart path removal, while in other areas we have simply taken some underbrush back to the original tree line such as 4 and 5. All areas will help widen playing corridors and some will increase sunlight and improve airflow to our bentgrass surfaces.
Our recently constructed bunkers at 1 and 17 will remain ground under repair for the first few weeks of the season. The ground under the sod as well as the bunker sand is still soft from construction followed by the winter season and the grass around the bunkers is still dormant in some areas. These will be clearly marked as GUR and you will get relief from these areas.
As always, we look forward to seeing you out at the golf course!
