Veranda
After your practice session or a round of golf, you’ll notice the new patio furniture on the veranda. It’s comfortable lounge seating and there is considerably more of it, as it fills the entire veranda. Once the on-course clean-up is completed Chad’s team will be clearing most of the shrubs below the north and east sides of the veranda with an objective to reveal the views that have been obstructed for many years. The current plantings have simply grown too tall and block out the beautiful views onto the golf course. Re-planting will occur but with varieties that won’t grow as tall. I expect the east side of the veranda will be more popular than ever.

Golf Course
Selective tree clearing is an ongoing task at every golf club. The decisions to remove trees around the property occurs in consultation with the course architect, the USGA and is also based on numerous other factors.
  1. If they are negatively impacting our turf conditions.
  2. If they are negatively impacting or altering playing conditions from a design perspective.
  3. And, when possible, exploring ways to expose long-views around the property.
Often all three of these conditions intersect and selective removal occurred this winter which we think will enhance our turf conditions and have opened up some beautiful new vistas on the property.
