For those members that stopped by this week, they would have noticed that we had all of our fitting carts on the range. There are a lot of exciting new products this season from all of our major club suppliers, including Titleist, Ping, Taylormade, Callaway and XXIO. Our golf professionals are available every day for any member that would like to book a fitting. As I alluded to in my e-blasts throughout the winter, our suppliers are turning product around much quicker. Over covid, when we placed orders it would take months until it would arrive. So far this season we are seeing product arrive in two weeks or less. We will still have plenty of fit days throughout the early part of the season so keep your eye open and check the calendar.
The pro shop is currently open from 10am – 6pm daily now that the range is open. Our staff have done a great job getting new product priced and on display so quickly. We are once again partnering with Golf Luxe to assist with our merchandising of the pro shop. Their first visit will be on April 26
th to ensure we are ready for our opening day. In the meantime, feel free to stop by and get first pick of all of the new apparel, footwear and more!
Some members have asked about our staff in the pro shop this year. I am exited and happy to share with you that we were able to retain all of our golf professionals and shop assistants from last year. The group is led by senior associates professionals Mark Bullen and Myles Bradford. Aside from their many daily responsibilities, Mark will once again take the lead with organizing the weekly Friday game while Myles will be the Men’s MAD League commissioner. Stay tuned for exiting updates on the weekly league format.
Stephanie Tucker is currently still out of the country working on her game. She will be back later this month and will continue to manage all aspects of our Ladies program with the help of captain Karen Franklin and vice-captain PA Irwin-Allen.
Marshall has been busy this off-season completing Level 3 TPI certification down in Carlsbad, California. He was able to spend time with TPI co-founder and coach to Jon Rahm, Dave Philips. When he is not teaching he will be managing our back shop staff.
Ahren McCutcheon also returns after successfully becoming a member of the PGA of Canada last fall. He was also busy this winter completing all of his required education from the PGA as part of his apprenticeship. He will work closely with Myles on our weekly MAD League.
We have two pro shop assistants for this year. Hannah Bloemendal, who worked in the shop last year is excited to return. Hannah is just completing grade 10 at Stayner Collegiate. She will be joined by newcomer Ysabella Madigan who is a first-year student at McMaster studying law.
Finally, Ryan Rinneard will return as our Director of Instruction. Ryan has also been active this year continuing his education. He is also working on inviting some guest instructors to visit the club at some point this season. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
Please make sure you stop by and re-introduce yourself to our staff. They are excited to see all of the returning and new members in 2023!
