Prior to saying goodbye to all of the students this week, we have many irrigation repairs to make on the driving range field. Due to the safety concerns of working on an open driving range, we plan to close the range Thursday August 31
st, this week to address 5 or 6 leaks that we have been neglecting in this area. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
This area remains a very difficult isolation for us despite the addition of numerous isolation valves last season. In order to isolate (shut water off) on the range we must have the water shut down at the clubhouse area, driving range, hole #10, 11 and 12. This is a very large area to have no water for multiple days, this is why a one day shut down is necessary. It will take us a full day to make all the repairs.

You may also notice that we have begun construction on 15 gold tee, for those that have dared to venture up there, this tee had become extremely small over time, so much so that we didn’t have enough room to square this tee space. We will be lowering the tee surface and creating more area in order to square this tee. Along with this improvement we will also be upgrading our Mad Mile Signage area. We plan to re-purpose some of sod removed from 18 white and red tees.
18 new green tee construction is also set to begin this week, a new tee will be constructed front and left of the current green/blue tee using fill from under our old white and red tees as well as removing a portion of the existing blue tee. While this project is taking place all tees will be able to use the new/old tees constructed in the spring of the year.
As a reminder, please remember to repair your ball marks, even when you’ve hit the green and bounced over the back. An unrepaired ball mark gives poa the perfect opportunity to invade.
