Golf Operations Update

6/22/2022

Our 2nd Ladies Tips & Sips is scheduled for next Thursday, June 30th from 4:30-6:30pm. The event will include one hour of golf instruction, followed by wine and hors d’oeuvres. The wine for this event will be a selection from Spain which will be presented by Otta. The cost to participate is $20 plus tax and gratuity. If you would like to sign up, please visit the event on the website calendar.

We have two fitting events this weekend with appointments still available. Ping will be at the club on Saturday, June 25th from 10am – 4pm. Callaway is here the next day from 10am – 3pm. Please call the pro shop if you would like to make an appointment. Speaking of equipment, Titleist has launched the new TSR driver and fairways on tour this week at the Travelers. Titleist is already the #1 driver and fairway brand played on tour. Based on the initial feedback on the new product, it sounds as though they will continue to be the most popular choice among tour players. We will have the new clubs available for fittings when Titleist is at Mad on Saturday, August 20th.

The US Open concluded last week with an exciting finish that came down to the final hole. The same can also be said for our Mad River Majors Pool. Congratulations to Bill Strain for winning the pool with a team score of -3. Angelo Zaccheo finished in second place at -2. Finally, rounding out the top 3 was Henry McGowan +1. The final major is schedule for July 14th -17th at The Old Course at St. Andrews. Please make sure you submit your picks if you want to be included.

We have seen more and more members hosting guests this year now that are guest restrictions have virtually been removed. I think it is good to remind all members that they are responsible for ensuring that their guests follow all our course etiquette rules. This means, relacing/filling all divots, fixing ball marks, raking bunkers, and keeping carts out of the fescue and on cart paths at all tees and greens. On top of this, to ensure the enjoyment of all other members on the course, groups which have guests must also maintain our pace of play of completing their round in 4 hours and 15 minutes of less.
