Over the past two summers, weekend guests have been severely limited and as members begin to host family and friends again, opening up access to bring their family and friends to the club is important.
Members may now host up to 3 guests on weekend and holiday afternoons. Weekend mornings are still limited to 1 guest per member, but we will continue to monitor the situation and plan to open this up as we experience our tee patterns over a slightly larger sample size.
It is still early in the season and demand will increase over the summer, but our strategy is to open up slowly and monitor the situation to ensure member access isn’t compromised.
Members have asked me about reciprocal times and when they will be available again. The primary reason we’re not permitting them, is due to the access limitations for our members at our reciprocal clubs. While rounds counts are trending down, it’s important to note, during the past two summers many city clubs were unable to accommodate all the tee requests they received each day. This meant members either could not play, played outside their preferred times or were restricted as to the number of rounds they could play each week. So, while these clubs are welcoming this downward trend in round requests, they still have 200+ players per day, a full tee sheet. Compare this to Mad River, our average daily round count for May was just over 100, pre-pandemic our average was closer to 75.
We will open up reciprocal requests on a club-by-club basis as we coordinate with the clubs that have the tee capacity to accept our reciprocal requests, Carl and I will communicate this over the coming weeks. As I mentioned in my Mad Post article, there may be the ability to coordinate out of town reciprocals in the event you are travelling elsewhere, so please contact Carl for the most current information.
