Golf Operations Update

5/25/2022

Our members are also noticing that access to tee times and booking times does not feel nearly as “stressful” as it was over the last two years. As a result, some members have begun to ask when things will get back to normal with regard to our guest restrictions and reciprocal play. Our current guest restriction allows a member to bring up to three guests, anytime Monday to Thursday, and one guest on Friday, weekends and holidays. Starting this weekend, our guest restriction will be adjusting to allow members to also bring three guests anytime on Friday and after noon on weekends and holidays. Members will still be limited to one guest in the mornings on weekends and holidays.

Reciprocals will still be unavailable at this time. We have seen a reduction in demand to start the season, that is not the case for the clubs in which we have a reciprocal arrangement. One club I spoke with just yesterday informed me that they are still averaging over 260+/day. They are not able to host any of our members at this time, simply because their members are still having issues getting their desired times. We will continue to monitor our demand and communicate with our reciprocal clubs to determine when the right time is to bring this back for our members to enjoy.

Our weekly Ladies Day, Men’s Mad League and Friday Morning Game are all in full swing. The captains and I continue to meet to discuss our upcoming events over the course of the next couple of months. I wanted to highlight one event which is currently open for registration. The Runoff – Intermediate Member/Member will be played on Saturday, June 18th with tee times starting at 2pm. If you are an intermediate at the club, this is a great event to connect with fellow members in your age demographic and enjoy some friendly competition with dinner and drinks following play. You can sign up as a team or individual by visiting the event calendar of the website.

The PGA Championship was contested last weekend at Southern Hills. The final round, which included a playoff, made up for what the Masters was missing for drama a month ago when Scottie ran away with the green jacket. Congratulations to John Johnston for winning the Majors Pool this past weekend. He finished with a team total of -9. There was a 3-way tie for 2nd place at -7 which included John McFarlane, Tim Martin and Henry McGowan. The next major is the US Open on Father’s Day weekend. The pro shop will be running the pool for this event. If you have already participated in any of the first three events, simply log onto your account on www.runyourpool.com to submit your picks. If you experience any issues, please contact Myles in the pro shop for assistance.

We have two fit days this weekend on Saturday, May 28th. Cobra will be at the club from 10am – 3pm and Taylormade from 11am – 6pm. Please call the pro shop to book an appointment. Also, don’t forget about our TRADE IN DAY on June 4th. This is a great opportunity to swap your old, unused clubs for credit in the pro shop. If you cannot make it that day, please drop off your clubs in advance and we can trade them in for you. If you would like to know what your clubs are worth, we can let you know by looking up the values on Sweet Spot Value Guide which can be found online.

Finally, the match play sign up deadline has passed. I will be completing the draws over the next few days and posting the brackets by June 1st. Stay tuned for your first round matches and good luck!
