Not only did we have some great events, we also had 2 Hole-in-Ones last week! Incredible! When someone gets a Hole-in-One, we wait until they call the Pro Shop to let us know. The Food & Beverage team waits for instruction from the person who achieved this goal as to whether we can serve “free” drinks right away or to wait for them to come in. This is solely up to them. Once we get the go ahead, fellow members can order a drink up to a $9 value (house wine, draft beer, canned beer and coolers as well as our basic liquor rail) If you wish to have a premium wine such as a Californian Chardonnay, you can do so for a Hole-in-One premium charge for the difference. We are doing this to allow for as many Members to celebrate in the achievement of the Hold-in-One.

Next week we have the official kickoff to the Ladies Day and Men’s Day where we have a lunch/dinner special for those who participate as well as featuring the brand “Birdie Juice” and Lake of Bays who will be here to do tastings. I will be with Stephanie and Myles at check in to see if you will be staying to dine after your round.

We are also hosting our first Friday Night Dinner Buffet on May 20th, 6:00pm cocktails and 7:00pm dinner. Please go to the calendar on the website to register or email Michelle at [email protected]. We also have a new event called Tips n Sips for the Ladies happening the last Thursday of every month which will showcase a wine region while getting some golf tips from our Pros. Please sign up through Golf Genius.

Lastly, we received some concerns about the Mad River App stating that orders are not being sent through when they actually are. We hope to get this sorted by the weekend. In the meantime, please call the Clubhouse at 705-428-3673 ext. 6 if you wish to order for pick up at the turn.  

We will continue with some Covid-19 protocols to keep everyone safe and comfortable. We will be wearing masks, sanitizing all work areas and there will be sanitizer stations at each entrance to the dining room, Cupp’s Corner and at the buffets.

A Note from Your Chef:


It was great to meet some members this past weekend as well as say hello to those of you who knew me at Terra Nova. Thank you for the compliments and I look forward to creating more tasty dishes in the future. As mentioned in a previous Mad Post, we have partnered up with COBBS Bread to bring you freshest bread (white, whole wheat and multigrain) to use when making sandwiches for you. COBBS Bread uses natural ingredients and uses no preservatives so the bread is softer and more fragile than a factory made bread like Wonder or Dempsters. We use new loaves every day and make only a handful of sandwiches based on the tee sheet so they are not sitting in the cooler too long.  If you have any questions, please free to ask Michelle or myself.
