Golf Operations Update

4/19/2022

In terms of staff, we are excited to welcome back all our golf professionals, along with two new shop assistants. Their looking forward to seeing our members in the shop, out on the course, and on the range for a lesson. I would like to take this opportunity to re-introduce our professional staff and let the members know what their key responsibility will be this year.

Mark Bullen will be returning for his 11th season. He will once again facilitate the Friday Morning Game and lead all our major member events throughout the season. Myles Bradford is entering his 3rd season. He will be responsible for our re-vamped Wednesday Men’s League (more information to come) and assist with our major member events. Marshall Voorheis is also returning for his 3rd season. Marshall will take on a leadership role with our back shop team. He has been busy over the winter developing a new training program that he is excited to put into action this year. Stephanie Tucker is back for her 2nd year. Last year, Stephanie spent her time shadowing and learning from Myles on Tuesday morning for our Ladies Day. She will now be in the driver’s seat and lead the program along with help and support from our captains, Susan, and Karen. Finally, Ryan Rinneard, our Director of Instruction, will be responsible for developing and leading all instructional programs.

Our two fresh faces in the shop are Ahren McCutcheon and Hannah Bloemendal. Both Ahren and Hannah are living nearby in Stayner. Ahren has worked the last two seasons as the pro shop manager at Remington Golf Club in Markham. As for Hannah, this is her first position at a golf club. She is a student at Stayner Collegiate and plays multiple sports, including rep hockey.

There is one name that I have not mentioned and that is Joyce Lyttle. Joyce has been a part of the Mad family for over 20 years. She has done an outstanding job over the years with her focus being the purchasing for all ladies’ merchandise in the shop. Last fall was not different as she once again completed the buying for this upcoming season. Unfortunately, Joyce will not be in the shop to start the season. She is currently recovering from injuries to her hip and wrist. She is optimistic that she will be able to return at some point this summer. When that day comes, we will welcome her back with open arms!

Please join me in welcoming back our golf professionals and pro shop staff for the 2022 season. If you have any questions with regards to events, leagues, lessons, merchandise in the shop, or anything else, please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to help!

The focus of my first Mad Post article was to introduce our pro shop team. Please make sure you read the Mad Post in the coming weeks, and all season for that matter, to stay up to date on valuable information regarding events, sign-ups, fitting days, and much more!

Looking forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks!
