With the April weather being cooler than usual the course is a couple weeks behind normal growth patterns, but the golf course has wintered beautifully and when the warmth arrives conditions promise to be excellent.
As usual, Chad completes a pre-opening aeration of the greens and that’s planned for early next week. This allows for some recovery prior to opening and means there is no further greens disruption until August.
The winter wind storms brought down a number of trees around the property, the ferocity snapped some in half and pulled others up at the roots. Most of this will be cleaned up along with Chad’s regular spring clean-up in preparation for opening.
Driving Range
The new range netting is scheduled for installation prior to opening and should improve the safety at both the chipping green and short range from errant shots hit from the driving range.
Ideally the new range mat system was also to have been installed in April, but with delays in the supply chain it looks like it will be closer to the end of May. There should be limited disruption while this occurs as it will installed between the hitting decks on the main driving range deck and at the back of the short-range deck.
Both practice areas will remain open during the installation.
Membership
We’ve had three membership resales this year and while there may still be additional listings in the coming months, once the course opens, listings generally slow until late summer and fall.
Our wait list to join the Club has now grown to over 130 prospective members. We are making some changes to the wait list policy and now require a non-refundable deposit for prospects on wait list III. Previously only wait list I (5 prospects) and wait list II (10 prospects) were required to submit the non-refundable deposit, but in order to provide us with more certainty as to the commitment of those further down the list, we felt this was a prudent next step.
As a reminder, prospects on wait list I have full access to golf, they pay full dues plus a premium. Wait list II prospects are permitted to play once per month on a user pay basis and wait list III prospects don’t have any access to the golf course.
