Golf Course Update

5/3/2022

Occasionally we will send out the odd reminder about etiquette on the golf course that will help make your and your fellow members experience on the golf course a better one.

Please remember to replace divots whenever possible, if your divot explodes and is unreplaceable, please use seed and sand provided on fairways, please do not use divot mix in our rough areas, the mix contains bent grass seed which is undesirable in our rough areas.

As always, please remember to fix your ball marks on our green surfaces, below you will find the proper method to repair pitch marks without inflicting further damage.  Never pry up in the centre of the mark, always push to the middle.

Pathways
Our pathway system throughout the golf course is comprised of recycled asphalt, we use a binding agent on top to form a solid surface that is free of dust, while remaining less than formal or a rustic appearance.  This replicates asphalt without the black top appearance and is a mere fraction of the cost.  It has worked ok to date, it keeps the dust down, but it is not as thick and robust as asphalt would be if we paved our pathways. It does breakdown from time to time and while we have the capacity to repair some areas during the course of the year it does remain an ongoing maintenance practice for the crew.  It is much better than the old dusty sand paths that used to wash out after every rain, but it is not as clean and not nearly as robust as paving the pathways would be.

On behalf of the grounds crew, welcome back, we look forward to the 2022 golf season and look forward to seeing you on the course!

Respectfully,

Chad Vibert
