The conclusion of Club Championships is also a nice opportunity to have some fun with the course set up and see what holes played the easiest and hardest. For example, the tees on Saturday on hole #17 were moved up. On Saturday, hole #17 was ranked the 4
th hardest hole for the day. On Sunday, the tees were in their normal position, and it lived up to its reputation as the hardest hole of the day averaging 1.68 shots over par.
Here are the rankings of hardest holes for the ladies and men’s at this year’s event and how many shots over par:
Ladies Men’s
- #17 7.30 #17 1.45
- #9 6.07 #12 1.39
- #15 6.63 #9 1.34
- #2 5.63 #18 1.22
- #1 1.60 #2 1.02
The easiest hole for both events was hole #7 which had an average score of 3.65 for the ladies and 3.48 for the men.
Now that Club Championships is over, it is time for our DEMO SALE! Starting this Friday, our demos will be on sale for 40% of retail prices. For example, the Titleist TSi driver retails at Golftown for $749.99, our member is price is $674.99, therefore the demo price is $449.99. This is a great opportunity to replace any club in the bag with a gently used demo. In some cases, the demo has only been hit a few times. I should point out that not all demos are for sale. If the product is carrying forward into 2023, our reps have informed us not to sell them off this fall. This applies to XXIO 12 since it was only released this year and will be in the line next season. If you are interested in purchasing a demo, please speak with one of the pro shop staff.
One product that is not carrying forward, which I already mentioned, is the Titleist TSi driver. This driver has been the #1 driver on tour for the last two years. It will soon be replaced by the new #1 driver on tour, which is the TSR. These drivers were given to tour players just over a month ago and virtually all of them put them in play. Now is your opportunity to test out the latest driver from Titleist as the rep will be at the club on Saturday, August 20
th from 10am – 3pm. We still have a few appointments available so please contact the golf shop to book a time.
Finally, now that the overall Club Championships is over, it is time to make way for the future with our Junior Club Championships. This event will be contested on Saturday, August 27
th with tee times starting at noon. To sign up for this event, please contact Marshall in the pro shop as he will be putting the grouping together and running the event.
