Golf Continues to Boom
Golf Canada is reporting that June saw the highest numbers of scores submitted in a month with over 1.7 million across Canada, up 11% from last year. Based on feedback from Clubs across Canada, golf continues to boom with rounds up from 2020 in all provinces. Our round count is up 8% from 2020, very much inline with what we’re seeing nationally.
Please Slow Down
For safety reasons we will be adding a second set of speed bumps to slow traffic down around the Clubhouse. Vehicles speeds in the area continue to be a concern, this second set will assist making the area safer for both members and staff, particularly during the junior camps.
I’m often asked why there is a set along the entrance road so far from the building. This set is to assist slowing automobile traffic down for Chad’s staff. The entrance road is the preferred route for his staff to access and egress the course and limit damage and disruption around #11 and #12 as they leave or return to the maintenance building.
Please be mindful of those walking or in carts and keep your speed to a minimum in these areas.
Also, the new walking path from the parking lot down to the back shop area is an option, it will keep you safely off the road at the “pinch point”.
Land Update
The survey work has been completed and once we have the final report, we will begin filing the appropriate paperwork to satisfy the final conditions from Clearview on the land exchange.
I hope to have these final few outstanding items completed by the end of summer. At that point we will begin the process to determine if we can have the land rezoned, which would permit future use if desired.
