Training for all staff will occur over two days and will be ongoing throughout the season if necessary. We are excited to welcome back staff and introduce new ones including a Supervisor, who will fill in for me when I am not present. These extraordinary individuals bring a variety of skills, experience and energy and look forward to creating an exceptional Member experience. We will showcase all staff in upcoming Mad Posts.
Quicker Service is one of many focusses this season. We’ve rebranded the concession to Cupp’s Corner and speeding up service here is a priority. As we look to the most efficient ways to do this there are two components, getting the order in early and having a dedicated staff member available to serve you.
First, we will be promoting the use of the Mad River App, especially for Cupp’s Corner or Take-Home orders. We encourage and highly recommend that you download and use the
App to order a sandwich so that it is ready for when you arrive or make the turn. The App has 3 sections:
- Cupp’s Corner Offerings - use when on the course or use it to order ahead of time, for example, when you book a tee-time for 9:00 am, you can also order a mad muffin for 8:30 am and it will be ready when you arrive
- Take Home Menu - order ahead to have ready when you are heading home
- Clubhouse Menu - see what to have after your round
A ‘How To’ video and how to best access Cupp’s Corner will be posted on the website next week.
The main access point for Cupp’s Corner is on the west side of the Clubhouse where a dedicated staff member will be waiting to serve you. Here, you can choose from a variety of grab ‘n’ go items, pick up your order or have a sandwich made fresh.
Communication will occur in every Mad Post and on Instagram. The Post will have details on specials, upcoming events, recipes, staff acknowledgment and any updates on Covid-19 rules.
Instagram: mad_river_golf_club We will be posting 3-4 times a week showcasing food and drink specials. We’ll also continue to post physical signage outside the Clubhouse and Cupp’s Corner.
The Enhanced Menu and Monthly Beer on Tap: We are bringing back the favourites like the Creemore Shrimp and the Mad Salad and are introducing new items like Confit Duck Wings and the Thai Shrimp Bowl. Every Month, we will have a new beer on tap to support local and to allow an opportunity for the Members to try something new.
Pricing Changes: Chef Otta and I are committed to providing the Members with excellent food for excellent value and we recognise that purchasing food from sustainable sources and locally is the best way to do so not just for taste, but ethically. Over the past 14 months, we have seen the cost of goods go up from simple canola oil to dairy and beef and it is not changing anytime soon. As a service amenity we make all efforts to keep our pricing reasonable, but certain menu items will reflect these changes.
Final Note: Mother’s Day is on May 9th and with the uncertainty of Covid guidelines, Chef Otta and I have come up with “Brunch To Go” as an amazing option.
