Golf Operations Update

6/6/2021

Speaking of the Pro Shop, our members have already been able to browse and purchase some of our 2021 offerings by visiting the outdoor Pro Shop. I want to thank our staff for setting up and taking down the outside retail fixtures every morning and night. They are all just as excited as you are to have the shop open which will allow our displays to remain in the shop. Make sure you check out our newest arrivals from Levelwear. This collection includes polos, layering pieces, t-shirts, hoodies, all featuring a 30th anniversary logo to commemorate this season. A reminder that we are only allowed 15% capacity (2 members) in the shop when we open this Friday. If you enter the shop and there are already two members inside, we kindly ask that you wait outside.

The 2021 Match Play brackets have now been posted. If you have signed up for one of these competitions, please contact your opponent to book your match before the posted deadlines. As excited as the Golf Activities Committee was to reintroduce this form of competition, they agreed that some aspects might have to change as we manage through another covid year. In a normal year, you could book your singles match and be guaranteed that you would not be paired up. This is something that the committee felt could not be guaranteed based on demand for the first tee. The Pro Shop will do their best to keep singles matches as a twosome when possible. The committee also agreed that matches should be booked during the week (Mon-Thu). If a match can only be played on the weekends, it is recommended that it be booked in the afternoon to avoid pace of play issues. Finally, when it comes to booking matches and ensuring they are completed before the deadline, you will be able to reserve up to two weeks in advance. Good luck to all the members who have signed up for these competitions. If you need assistance preparing a scorecard, please call the golf shop and someone will be happy to assist. There will be more events coming as we move into July as more restrictions are lifted.

Finally, I would like to remind all members of the message that was sent out earlier in the week about booking procedures. Based on the feedback received from the membership, the booking procedures have changed to a hybrid model. The hybrid model will utilize our regular booking procedures for weekdays, Monday to Thursday; and the ballot system will continue to be used on Friday and weekends. The two systems are explained in further detail below:

Booking Tee Times – Monday to Thursday
Members may book 7 days in advance, after 6:00pm, on the website or by calling the Pro Shop. There will NOT be an option to submit a ballot for these days. This is the same system that was used for the 2020 season.

Booking Tee Times – Friday & Weekends
Members can submit a ballot request form up to two weeks in advance for Friday and weekends. The deadline to submit your ballot is Friday at 2:00 pm, one week in advance. The Pro Shop will populate the tee sheets from the ballots submitted. At 6:00pm on Friday evening, the tee sheets for the following Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be available on the website or by calling the Pro Shop to book any remaining times for these days. If you have any questions about the booking procedures, please contact the Pro Shop and speak with one of the golf professionals.
