With limited space available on the practice facilities due to social distancing, programs will be offered on a maximum participation rate of 4:1, students to coach, and programs will run for 90 minutes each day for 5 days. The 4:1 ratio will also mean that your child will be receiving more one-on-one time with their coach.
With smaller groups this year, our priority will be for the current junior members to have the opportunity to sign up for their lessons first. This will take place on Monday July 27th, starting at 7:30am. To register, you must call into the pro shop on this day. There will be no pre-registering this year.
On Wednesday July 29th at 7:30am, we will open registration to the immediate family. If you have a child or grandchild who is not an active member, you will have the opportunity to sign them up on this date.
Unfortunately, for this season, we will be limiting participation to family members.
While we would love to offer business as usual, there will be certain age restrictions due to COVID-19. It is for this reason that we will not be offering Tiny Tots or Level 1 this season, and as a parent of a Tiny Tot, it pains me to say this. The ages for these two groups are as follows:
Tiny Tots: U-5
Level 1: 5 and 6 Years of age
The following schedule will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and please remember that class sizes will be limited to 4 juniors per.

The pricing structure will be the same for all levels and will be $250 per participant.
Here is the age breakdown of each level. Please note that your child may only attend one session per month. If there is room in the following week or weeks for your son or daughter to attend, you may put your child's name on a waitlist to attend more than one session. The pro shop will inform you on the Friday, prior to the following week, if a spot is free.
Level 2: 7 to 8 years old
Level 3: 9 to 10 years old
Level 4: 11+ years old
Level 5 Advanced: Participants must display a certain aptitude to play at an advanced level to participate.
Please note that lunches and beverages will not be provided this year as they were in previous years. Please ensure that your junior golfer has adequate food and water to get them through each session. Your child must have sunscreen applied prior to participating.
Also, we know how much each junior golfer enjoys their cart rides, however due to COVID-19 and physical distancing, this will not be an option this year.
GOLF BALLS: While on the putting green or chipping green, participants must use their own golf balls to eliminate the possible spread of the virus. Golf balls should be marked as they would be on the golf course.
Some important housekeeping notes
We are all aware that this is not business as usual and our utmost priority is to protect the health and well-being of your junior golfer, your household, our professional staff, and every other member of Mad River.
If at any point, any of the participants are not adhering to social distancing protocols, there will be a 3-strike rule:
A warning is issued, and the parent is informed
The junior golfer is sent home for the day
The junior golfer is excused from the week of lessons
Thank you for taking the time and we look forward to seeing some little golfers on the practice facilities again real soon.
Sincerely,
Ryan Rinneard
