Foundation of Our Junior Programs

More Details
At Mad RIver, we are committed to providing our junior members with a program through which they can progress at their own pace, developing their skill, understanding and love of the game while effectively integrating into the club.

In our junior golf camps and clinics, your children will learn how to swing a golf club, the rules and etiquette of the game and the values that guide Mad River. They will socialize with new and old friends while learning the lessons the game shares with life.

The foundation for junior development at Mad River is Golf Canada's Long-Term-Player Development Model (LTPD); a model that encompasses all aspects of an athlete's progression.  Regardless of skill level, all athletes fall into the grand scheme of creating champions for life and will develop their technical and mental skills through the 8 stages of development within the LTPD model.  These are:

1. Active Start
2. Fundamentals
3. Learn to Golf
4. Introduction to Competition
5. Learn to Compete
6. Train to Compete
7. Compete to Win
8. Golf for Life

While the final two phases are at the end of a juniors development stage, the first six stages of development are the foundation of our Junior Programming.
